In the absence of a written agreement, a freelance writer owns all the copyrights for any work he creates for a client. All the client acquires is a nonexclusive license to use the work as intended. The freelancer still owns the work and may resell it to others.
This claim is unlimited and not restricted in its applicability and includes all contingencies. All rights to my work are mine. Period. Nothing may be reproduced in any format or medium, including but not restricted to electronic, without written permission in advance. In the event of any dispute, choice of law is Ontario Canada and the parties agree that mediation will be used prior to any litigation.
It is the spirit as well as the letter of this claim which is to be honoured in all matters. This notice is intended to protect all my rights, not to inadvertently except any.
